Luggage Storage in Turin Porta Nuova: Make the Most of Your Last Day, Hands Free
Author: Walter Perlo
Check-out at 10am, train at 6pm. That leaves eight hours of Turin, and a suitcase you don't want to roll across the cobbles of Via Roma.
It's one of the questions our guests ask most, on arrival and on departure: “where can we leave our bags?” It works the other way round too, if you land on an early train and your apartment isn't ready until the afternoon. That's why, starting in November 2026, we're working with Locker for You, a self-service luggage storage just around the corner from Porta Nuova station. Here's how it works, and how to spend the free hours well.
The first and last day are the ones we waste
Most travellers spend the gap between check-out and departure in a waiting room or at the station café, watching the clock. Yet Porta Nuova sits right in the middle of the city: the historic centre, the river Po and the San Salvario neighbourhood are all a short walk away.
Time isn't the problem. The suitcase is. Without it, half a day in Turin is enough for a museum, a slow lunch and a coffee in one of the historic cafés.
How Locker for You at Porta Nuova works
Where: Via San Quintino 1 bis/C, about a 3-minute walk from Porta Nuova station.
When: open every day, 7am to 11pm.
What you can leave: suitcases, trolleys and backpacks, in medium and large lockers.
Price: from €7. The rate depends on locker size and how long you need it, from a few hours to several days. Current prices are on their website.
Booking: online, where you can check availability first, or in person. You open your locker with a personal code.
Security: the premises are under video surveillance.
One thing to keep in mind: bags must be collected before your booking ends and before closing at 11pm. If your train leaves late in the evening, plan accordingly.

Half a day in Turin, starting from Porta Nuova
A walking route you can stretch or shorten to fit your timetable.
Via Roma and Piazza San Carlo (8–10 minutes on foot). Leave the station, cross the gardens of Piazza Carlo Felice and you're under the arcades of Via Roma. Piazza San Carlo is the city's grand drawing room, and the place for a first coffee. Try a bicerin, Turin's layered drink of coffee, chocolate and cream.
The Egyptian Museum (about 15 minutes on foot). At Via Accademia delle Scienze 6, steps from Piazza San Carlo, it holds one of the world's most important collections of Egyptian antiquities. With three free hours, it's the obvious choice. Book ahead, especially at weekends.
The Po and Valentino Park (about 15 minutes on foot). Walk down Corso Vittorio Emanuele II to the river. A stroll along the Po and through the park's avenues is the gentlest way to say goodbye to the city, even in November, when the plane trees drop their leaves.
San Salvario, before your train. This lively neighbourhood starts right next to the station. Around Via Madama Cristina and Via Nizza you'll find bars for a last aperitivo, the Turin ritual of a drink with small bites. From there it's a few minutes back to your locker and on to the platforms.
If you're in town this month, with the ATP Finals, Bagna Cauda Day and the big exhibitions, our guide to Turin in November has it all.
A few practical tips
Book online on big event days. During the ATP Finals or long weekends the city fills up, so check availability first.
Keep documents, chargers and medication with you. The locker is for what's heavy, not for what you need.
Write down your access code somewhere that doesn't depend on your phone battery.
Leave a margin on the way back. The walk is short, but Porta Nuova gets crowded at rush hour.
Turin is waiting, and so is your suitcase
Storing your bags buys you half a day more in the city, and a calmer start or end to your trip.
