Bagna Cauda Day 2026 (Part 2): where to eat it in Turin, Asti and the Langhe

In mid-October, in Part 1 of this guide, we laid out November in Turin: the ATP Finals, the big exhibitions, the Torino Film Festival and the two weekends of Bagna Cauda Day. The practical bit was missing: where to actually sit down and eat. The official list of participating places is now online, and we've turned it into a map.

Three things are now confirmed. The price is €30 per person, the same everywhere, with wine at €15 a bottle. This year's motto is "Questo bavaglio ci rende liberi" ("this bib sets us free"), illustrated on the 2026 cloth bib by artist Pedro Porro. And the dates are as announced: Friday 20, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22, then Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, for lunch and dinner.

Map of the provinces of Turin, Asti and Cuneo showing the 76 Bagna Cauda Day 2026 venues in four areas, the bagna cauda traffic-light key and the dates 20–22 and 27–29 November

How Bagna Cauda Day works

  • You book directly with the restaurant, by phone or email. The map links to the official listing for each area, with contacts and sittings.

  • A "traffic light" tells you what you'll get. Red is the traditional version. Yellow is the "heretic" one, with mellowed garlic. Green is the "atheist" one, with no garlic at all. If someone at your table is trying it for the first time, yellow is a safe middle ground.

  • Finale in gloria. Some places finish the traditional way: an egg cooked right in the fujot, the little terracotta pot kept warm by a candle, with white truffle shaved on top. It costs €10–15 extra, depending on truffle prices.

  • Bagna sovrana. A full menu built around the bagna cauda; each restaurant sets its own price.

  • Sporta a ca'. A takeaway version with all the vegetables, handy if you're staying in an apartment. The map flags the places that offer it.

Where to eat bagna cauda in Turin

There are 13 participating places in the city, almost all central or a short tram ride away. Grouped by neighbourhood:

  • Between Porta Nuova station and Piazza San Carlo: Poormanger in Piazza Paleocapa, a couple of minutes from the station, and MacBUN on Via Rattazzi.

  • The Roman Quadrilateral (old town): Osteria Rabezzana on Via San Francesco d'Assisi and Poormanger on Via Palazzo di Città.

  • Porta Palazzo and the Balon flea market: Antico Balon on Piazza Emanuele Filiberto and San Giors on Via Borgo Dora, a good pairing with the Saturday-morning market.

  • Between Via Po and Vanchiglia: Osteria Sinella on Corso San Maurizio, Trattoria Piemontese on Via Napione and Poormanger on Via Maria Vittoria.

  • Crocetta: Ostu Enoteca on Via Cristoforo Colombo, which also does takeaway. It's the closest city venue to the Inalpi Arena, about 2 km away, if you have Finals tickets that evening.

  • Towards Porta Susa, across the Po and further north: MacBUN on Corso Siccardi, Cantine Risso on Corso Casale and 12 Arcate Osteria on Via Randaccio.

Staying in Alba: the Langhe, Roero and southern Asti

There are 24 places across the Langhe, Roero and the southern Asti hills. Closest to Alba (all within about 15 minutes by car): Fuocofarina in the town centre, Trattoria Risorgimento in Treiso, Agriturismo Lo Sprin in Neviglie and Agriturismo La Ruota in Montelupo Albese. Towards Asti, Castagnole delle Lanze and Costigliole d'Asti, with three venues including the village association, are 20–25 minutes away. In the Roero, there's Cantina del Bivio in Canale.

The Alba White Truffle Fair is still on during both Bagna Cauda Day weekends (it closes on 6 December). A very good day: the World White Truffle Market in the morning, then bagna cauda at a farmhouse in the hills in the evening, finale in gloria included.

Asti by train from Turin: the easiest day trip

Asti is where Bagna Cauda Day was born, and it has the most venues: 27 across the town and its outlying villages. From Turin Porta Nuova the train takes 31 to 50 minutes; most regional express trains take about 35, and there are dozens of departures a day. From Asti station the old town is about a ten-minute walk, and around fifteen participating places are on or near Corso Alfieri, the main street.

No car needed, and no need to skip the Barbera because you're driving. If it's your last day in Turin, you can drop your suitcase at luggage storage by Porta Nuova and collect it when you're back.

Turin province: valleys, hills and plain

The 12 venues in the wider province are the most spread out. Towards the mountains: the Susa Valley (Chiomonte, Villar Focchiardo), the Sangone Valley (Coazze, Cumiana) and the Canavese area (Cuorgnè, Chialamberto). South of the city: Moncalieri, Carmagnola, Scalenghe and Pralormo; west, Rivoli. You'll want a car, but you'll often get the village-trattoria feel that's harder to find in town. Agriturismo Cascina Teitot (Scalenghe) and Antica Trattoria Monviso (Carmagnola) also do takeaway.

Which weekend to pick

  • 20–22 November: this overlaps with the ATP Finals semi-finals and final. It's Turin's busiest weekend of the month, so tables and accommodation are harder to get. If you want this weekend, book now, or have your bagna cauda in Asti or the Langhe instead.

  • 27–29 November: the tennis is over, the Torino Film Festival has just opened and the city is calmer. This is the weekend we'd recommend if bagna cauda is the main reason for your trip.

A practical tip: when you call, ask for the traffic-light colour, the sittings (some places only do Friday dinner), whether the cloth bib is included, and whether the finale in gloria needs booking ahead. Can't make it in November? There's a winter encore, Bagna della Merla, on 29, 30 and 31 January 2027.
